Bears evolved with fire.

Hi, my name is Ember Bear, and I am so happy that you are here.

I’m a cinnamon black bear eager to share my forest experiences with you. I have the great fortune of having many relatives across the West.

I have been on many adventures and I’d like to share something very special to me - it is a force that stimulates new life, gives us food to eat, and brings beauty to the forest floor.

What is it? Fire! When forests burn, they become young again, and new life sprouts forth. I enjoy eating tasty berries, wildflowers, bugs in burned trees, new roots and shoots.

Fire is a part of the forest’s life cycle, just like rain is to a rain forest.

I am working with top scientists to bring the best of what we have learned to you in an exciting, visually compelling way.

Over the coming months and years, we will share more cool infographics, instructional guides on what you can do to better prepare and educational materials in the field of fire and forest ecology.

Remember—Real Bears Love Burns!
